Bought the nailer to put engineered wood siding on my house (LP Smartside). Nailer worked great. The depth setting was not quite as straight forward as with the Hitachi but worked well once the desired depth was found.I used 2" and 2 1/2" nails and both worked well.
The nail gun is light, very responsive and the adjustible exhaust is nice too. This nailer was purchased for a home project, whole house re-siding job and has worked out really well. The price was very good, my compressor is a 5 hp, not a huge unit and with 100' of hose I was a little worried about it being able to keep up, the nailer works fine.
if you are nailing plywood, don't look any further. not so when i used it. this gun is great. in other reviews, i read that the wire collating holding the nails together remains after this gun shoots the nail. easy to load, easy to use, a real work horse, with 1 1/4 in ring shank galvanized nail--does an excellent job. very very happy with this gun./s/ a weekend handyman & homeowner
Great nailer, no major problems. One or two jams during the whole house project but nothing to complain about. Would recommend this item for sure.
The other 15% I seems to get jammed and mis-fires. I bought the nail gun for a siding job at my house. It seems to work okay about 85% of the time. Overall, I was disappointed as it seems to mess up just when I'm holding a piece in an awkward position and want to nail it quickly (I'm always cussing it). The other 85% of the time it works great and I'm soooo glad not to be nailing by hand.
